Overview of family

My story gets quite confusing so I thought I’d better write a quick overview. I don’t use words like step or half brother, sister etc because as far as I’m concerned family is family.

So the adoptive family: mom was Dutch and dad was South African and they had a son (The Prof), then adopted me 2 years later and a few years after that adopted another little boy, but for reasons unknown, gave him back!

My biological father was German/ Jewish and I have 2 brothers from that side, one I have still not met after all these years and the eldest who I’ve known for about 10 years.

My biological mother is Scottish (haven’t met), she had a daughter who I’ve recently met (6 years older than me) and a son who is younger than me who I correspond with.

So one sister and 4 brothers later and an enormous amount of cousins from all 3 families, I have hot and cold running relatives EVERYWHERE! Fabulous!!!!

Added to that I have 2 gorgeous daughters, from different fathers and all their respective relatives, who bless them, have overlooked my particular brand of madness and poured an inordinate amount of love and care into my life.

Not bad for an adopted kid who started out with a dish cloth for a bib!

My life rocks!
