Kudo’s to The Queen

Discussions are under way for a memorial service to be held at Westminster Abbey in honour of Nelson Mandela once he passes. This will make him the first non – Briton to be honoured.

Although the idea was not motivated or suggested by the Queen, she is apparently wanting to attend the service if it should take place.

As a lowly South African citizen I am overjoyed at the honour that would be bestowed on him through such a memorial.
Westminster Abbey has seen the coronation and burial of royals since the year dot.

Added to that it would be a breath of fresh air to those of us still reeling from the embarrassment of Zuma’s visit to England – our only relief being that he didn’t arrive dressed in furs and carrying a spear and shield as is apparently occassionally his wont when welcoming dignataries here.

We’re also hoping our officials won’t attempt to charge The Queen for the honour of holding  a memorial service…

Just saying….

Saw about that on the BBC World news a couple of days ago..
I think almost most people in Britain will be delighted and honoured to have a Memorial Service in Westminster Abbey here in the UK. Nelson Mandela has touched a lot of hearts in this country and is very highly regarded…and most of us remember the great Free Nelson Mandela concerts held here and of all the demonstrations and protests at the South African embassy that have taken place over the last 40 or 50 years to show how much support there was here in Britain for change
    in south Africa….xxx

I shall weep when he goes, for him and for South Africa, because what will happen? Take white farms away from white farmers – more killed last week. Will that ass Zuma stop it? Not after be sang:. Death to the Boers, not a multi racial friendly song, is it? X

and he defended his right to sing it, but right now there is an interesting awakening with rhampele starting a new party and others speaking up about the corruption, so we’ll see
